Autumn 2 - Lights, Camera, Action!
This half term our topic is lights, camera, action. We have written our own film reviews on the film La Luna.
Using persuasive speech, we have also created our own advertisements for this years must have toys.
Geography has linked into our topic and we have looked at the four countries: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland that make up the United Kingdom. With research we have found out that many films have been both set and filmed in the United Kingdom.
Spring 1 & 2 - The Rotten Romans
This term we have been learning about the Romans. In English we have written Quest stories and informal letters to a relative in Rome. Currently, we are writing a non-chronological report about Roman children. We are learning how to organise our work into subheadings. Next we will be writing and performing choral poetry.
In maths we have been learning all about measurements and fractions and this half term we have started our unit on 'properties of shapes'. We have been drawing 2D shapes, making 3D models and learning about angles. We learnt about right angles, obtuse angles and acute angles. We went on an angle hunt around the school and took pictures of the angles we found. Next we will be revisiting multiplication and division - keep practising those 3x, 4x and 8x tables!
